Building for the Next Chapter of Research

As Georgia’s largest university and one of the nation’s fastest-growing research institutions, Georgia State University continues to invest in spaces that support research, education, and future growth.

Office Interiors furnished approximately 90,000 square feet across four floors of Georgia State University’s new Research Tower, supporting the university’s current needs while leaving room for future expansion. The project also continued a relationship between Office Interiors and Georgia State that dates back to 1998.

Coordinating Furniture With a New Building

With a new building, successful furniture installation starts well before delivery. Office Interiors coordinated furnishings with the building design, making sure specifications aligned with electrical connections, circulation, ADA accessibility, life-safety requirements, and the practical realities of moving and installing product throughout the new facility.

That coordination was especially important across a project of this scale, where details needed to align across multiple floors and project teams.

Delivering Against the Academic Calendar

The university’s academic calendar created a firm deadline. Furniture needed to be manufactured, delivered, and installed before the start of the school year, requiring close coordination from specification through installation.

Office Interiors delivered the project on time and within budget, with zero furniture specification errors, helping Georgia State prepare the new space on schedule.

A Partnership Built Over Time

After nearly two decades of working with Georgia State, Office Interiors brought an established understanding of the university and its expectations to the Research Tower project. That long-standing relationship came with trust, but also accountability to meet the budget, schedule, and level of execution expected by the university.

The result is a successful addition to Georgia State’s growing research environment, furnished for today’s needs with room to support what comes next.
